First off, you had to have an idea (vision) of what the end goal looked like, and then you had to be careful and orderly in placing each block one on top of the other. This is organizing, and you’ve been doing it since birth so you are a natural pro! When organizing a campaign you got to be clear. When people learn about your campaign they want to know three things:
• What is this about?
• Why should I care?
• What do you want me to do?
Building blocks to a campaign start with answering those three questions. If you can answer those three questions you are on your way!
As a teen, people often ignore you or do not take you seriously. The biggest short-term benefit to organizing a campaign is finding your voice, and using it. The biggest long-term benefit in organizing a campaign is strengthening your voice. When you organize a campaign people begin to hear you, and will begin to take you seriously. This in turn creates a great long-term opportunity to make a difference in the issues you care about the most. Organizing a campaign is definitely a powerful way to be heard and make a change.
