What to Wear: College Tour Visit
By SGZ Staff
With college applications mailed and invitations to visit campuses coming in, now is the time to prepare for college tours. Sitting through information sessions and walking around campuses are a helpful step in your decision-making process. It’s also important that on these tours, you dress the part.
According to Teen Vogue, dressing for that college visit means wearing a “professional getup that reflects your personal style.” When meeting key members of the college community, you want to appear put-together.
Try a look such as a comfy dress-and-cardigan combo, which is a great way to achieve the put-together look. Or consider a feminine blouse and a pair of dark modern-cut pants – not jeans – but pants.
Wear flat shoes, preferably ones with support since you’ll be on your feet a good portion of the day walking around campus.
Accessories will make your college tour outfit stand out, Teen Vogue reports. Try carrying a brightly colored handbag, wearing a chunky bracelet or two, or a pair of statement earrings. These pieces will allow you to express yourself fashionably while setting you apart from others.
But however you dress, make sure it is climate appropriate. No one wants to leave a college tour with a case of the sniffles.
